Day 1 - Holguin

Welcome to the charming city of Holguin! Upon arrival, you will transfer to the hotel. We can organise your transfer or you can arrange this yourself. Accommodation: Hotel in Holguin of 3* standard.

Day 2 - Holguin - Turquino National Park

Your tour guide will meet you in the hotel reception at 8:30 am. The bus will take you to the charming town of Bayamo which sits at the foot of the Sierra Maestra mountain range. After a short guided tour of the city, you will head to the Sierra Maestra to begin the first hike of your trip. You will follow the same path as the rebels of the Cuban Revolution, walking from the Alto de Naranja to the Comandancia de la Plata, the former headquarters of Fidel Castro. Hiking info: Approx. 2 hours (easy). Accommodation: huts/tents. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 3 - Turquino National Park

You will trek through the lush rainforest of Turquino National Park towards Aguada de Joaquin (1.360m), enjoying the spectacular scenery and peaceful atmosphere of the mountains. Hiking info: Approx. 5 hours. Accommodation: huts/tents. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 4 - Turquino National Park

Today you will embark on the most demanding yet rewarding leg of your trip: the ascent of Cuba’s highest mountain (1.974m). The hike will take you through a variety of beautiful natural landscapes and at the summit you will be treated to breathtaking panoramic views. After a rest and some photos, you will hike back down to Aguada de Joaqin. From here, the bus will take you to your hotel. Hiking info: Approx 8-9 hours (hard). Accommodation: Hotel in the Sierra Maestra of 2* standard. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 5 - Sierra Maestra

Today you will enjoy a more relaxing day amongst the lush beauty of the Sierra Maestra region. The gentle hike will take you to El Salton waterfall where you can swim and enjoy a cool, restorative shower after the demanding hikes of the past few days. Hiking info: Approx 3.5 hours (easy). Accommodation: Hotel in the Sierra Maestra of 2* standard. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 6 - Sierra Maestra – Santiago de Cuba

You will leave the tranquillity of the Sierra Maestra Mountains for the vibrancy of Cuba's second largest city, Santiago de Cuba. Embrace its lively Caribbean spirit as you discover the city's highlights on a guided tour! Accommodation: Hotel in Santiago de Cuba of 3* Standard. Meals: Breakfast & Dinner.

Day 7 - Santiago de Cuba - Holguin

The bus will take you back to Holguin. In the afternoon, you can enjoy some free time exploring the city and its many parks. Accommodation: Hotel in Holguin of 3* standard. Meals: Breakfast.

Day 8 - Departure

Transfer to the airport of Holguin (optional). If you would like to extend your stay in Cuba, we would be delighted to make further arrangements for your stay. Meals: Breakfast.
