Cycle across some of Cuba’s most breathtaking landscapes - from the lush greenery of the valley of Viñales, a UNESCO World Heritage Site - to the sparkling waters of Cayo Jutias, a small key adjoined to the northern Coast of Cuba. You’ll also pedal right into the heart of Cuban life and culture, as you visit four must-see cities and towns (Havana, Cienfuegos, Trinidad and Santa Clara), where you’ll be able to get an inside view of Cuban history, architecture and music. Day 1- Havana

Bienvenido a Cuba! We can arrange a transfer to your accommodation (optional) or you can arrange your own transport. Depending on your arrival time, you may have some free time to explore Havana before settling into your accommodation. Accommodation: Hotel in Havana of 4* standard.

Day 2 - Havana

You will attend a welcome meeting with your tour guide before exploring Havana’s atmospheric old town on foot. You will enjoy lunch in a local restaurant and continue to the House of Tango community project. After, you will return to the hotel and can spend the evening as you wish. Accommodation: Hotel in Havana of 4* standard. Meals: Breakfast & Lunch.

Day 3 - Havana - Viñales

Your cycling adventure begins! You will pick up your bike and head towards one of Cuba’s most beautiful regions, the Viñales Valley. You will pass tobacco and crop plantations as well as rare and endemic flora and fauna. Once the cycling portion of your journey is complete, you will continue by bus. After lunch, you will continue for approximately 20 km / 12.5 mi to your hotel. Cycling distance: Approx. 20 km/12.5 mi. Accommodation: Hotel in Viñales of 3* star standard. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 4 - Cayo Jutías

You will set off on a 34-mile ride to the picturesque islet of Cayo Jutias, connected to the Cuban mainland by a man-made causeway. The scenic ride grants spectacular views of the Sierra de los Órganos. In the afternoon, you can explore the island and relax on its idyllic beach. You will return to Viñales for the night. Cycling distance: Approx. 55 km / 34 mi. Accommodation: Hotel in Viñales of 3* standard. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 5 - Viñales

Today you will explore the delights of the Viñales Valley by bike, following a narrow path that takes you past tobacco plantations, dramatic landscapes and Comunidades (communes). You will learn lots about the tobacco plant and have the opportunity to buy some “puros” directly from the producers. Cycling distance: Approx. 50 km / 31 mi. Accommodation: Hotel in Viñales of 3* standard. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 6 - Viñales - Cienfuegos

Today’s ride takes you to Cienfuegos, a beautiful city known as the “Pearl of the South”. On the way you will visit Guamá, where you can enjoy a boat ride on the Laguna del Tesoro, explore a recreated indigenous village and visit a crocodile farm. You will have lunch in a local restaurant (not included), before continuing to Cienfuegos by bus. Upon arrival, you will tour the city by bike, learning about its elegant French-influenced architecture. Cycling distance: Approx. 10 km / 6 mi. Accommodation: Casa particular in Cienfuegos. Meals: Breakfast.

Day 7 - Cienfuegos - Trinidad

You will cycle towards Trinidad, skirting the foot of the Escambray Mountains. There are several gentle inclines along the way that offer superb views of the lush surroundings. Once you have arrived in the UNESCO World Heritage-listed city of Trinidad, you can enjoy an evening at leisure. There are a number of good nightlife options in the area including Casa de la Musica, Casa del la Trova and Las Cuevas. Cycling distance: Approx. 25 km / 15.5 mi. Accommodation: Casa particular in Trinidad.

Day 8 - Trinidad

In the morning, you will enjoy a guided walk through Trinidad, learning about the “Golden Age” of the sugar boom in Cuba and the riches this period (temporarily) bestowed on the city. Observe the remarkably well-preserved colonial architecture, including the former residences of sugar-barons. You can spend the rest of the day as you wish. You may like to take a taxi (not included) to the nearby beach, Playa Ancón, to relax, swim or snorkel. Accommodation: Casa particular in Trinidad.

Day 9 - Trinidad

You will venture a little outside of Trinidad to the Valle de los Ingenios where Trinidad’s sugar plantations once operated. You will cycle past the ruins of 19th-century sugar mills and stop to climb the watchtower of Torre Iznaga, originally used to oversee slaves working in the fields. In the afternoon, you will ride back to Trinidad. Cycling distance: Approx. 40 km / 25 mi. Accommodation: Casa particular in Trinidad.

Day - 10 - Trinidad - Santa Clara

You will ride towards the city of Santa Clara, passing through a mountains thickly populated with pine and eucalyptus trees. The cycling paths are stony and steep in places but easily managed. You will stop for a break in the town of Topes de Collantes - 800 m above sea level – which is renowned for its exceptionally-clean air and sanatorium. In the afternoon, you will continue cycling towards Santa Clara. Cycling distance: Approx. 30 km / 18.5 mi. Accommodation: Hotel in Santa Clara of 3* standard. Meals: Dinner.

Day 11 - Santa Clara - Havana

You will journey from Santa Clara to Havana via the seaside city of Matanzas. You will cycle through the Yumuri Valley before being picked up and driven to Cuba’s vibrant capital city. Cycling distance: Approx. 45 km/ 28 mi. Accommodation: Hotel in Havana of 4* standard. Meals: Breakfast.

Day 12 - Havana

Transfer to Havana Airport (optional). If you would like to extend your stay In Cuba, we would be delighted to make further arrangements for your stay.

Casa Osmary y Alberto

Easily spotted thanks to its bright-pink exterior, Osmary y Alberto is one of Trinidad’s largest and finest casas particulares. Its simple, comfortable rooms are dotted around a pretty courtyard full of greenery and woven hammocks for relaxing. The location is fantastic, with the main square just a short-walk away, though the excellent on-site restaurant and bar make a night-in a tempting option. The friendly owners can even organise private salsa dance lessons to be enjoyed on the grounds, best enjoyed before a round of Alberto’s cocktails!

One of Havana’s most emblematic hotels, the Habana Libre (formerly the Habana Hilton before the 1959 Revolution!) has a truly privileged location, as it sits right at the beginning of La Rampa in the centre of Havana. The hotel is decorated with works of art and murals created by some of Cuba’s most eminent artists. This high-rise building offers a pool, a nightclub with a retractable roof, 5 restaurants, 2 bars and a cigar room. This elegant high-rise building also offers magnificent panoramic views of Havana.
