Order the ropa vieja! It doesn’t sound delicious (the names translates as “old clothes”) but is very tasty, made up of shredded stewed beef and vegetables.
It’s a little off the tourist trail but I love Baracoa. It’s a quirky and colourful town full of characters and stories! You have to get chatting to the people who live there to experience it to the fullest. Founded in 1492, it was Cuba’s first Spanish settlement.
Visit Baracoa as part of a multi-centre trip
Taking an evening stroll along the Malécon in Havana, the atmosphere is unbeatable. I loved people-watching and just taking everything in. It felt like a very authentic taste of life in the city.
